Our mission is simple: To Love God, Love Others, and Spread the Gospel. Whether it is loving others by loving our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ right here in our hometown, or helping the needy across the globe, we as Christians strive to bless the world. I would like to welcome you to our Missions Page. Now, there are a few quick topics that I would like to address before I "let you loose." If you have already been here before, then enjoy! And many thanks! If not, take a moment and read more about this page.

This page is going to be dedicated to two main aspects of our missions. What WE are doing (such as who we support and what we as a congregation are doing to help those in need) and what YOU can do.

What WE Are Doing:

This topic will be updated in a very short amount of time, so thank you for your patience. But something that you can be expecting would be the aspect of all of our Missions and Missionaries. Those whom we support will be listed here. The letters that we receive from our Missionaries will be posted here, to keep you informed. Any requests from them? We will be sure to let you know here. If they have personal websites or blog sites that they maintain? They will be linked here. In other words, any and all information you need to know about any and all Missions and Missionaries will be here for easy access, and will be updated constantly when we receive more information. So stay with us here and check back soon for their updates!

What YOU can Do:

One of the questions that people always ask is, "What is my purpose? What can I do?"

To which we can respond with, "You can help feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, and raise money for other missions."

Would you like to know how? Well, I'm very happy you asked. Because we here at Griffith First Christian have put together some places where you can do just that. The following 3 sites that you see below are places that you can answer trivia questions, play games, and click buttons, for a purpose. These games aren't just for your entertainment. You are helping thousands of people eat, drink, and survive. Right from your very own computer. You my friend, are a virtual missionary. By your own brain power, and your dedication to this website, a "Christian Hero," helping those in need. And we applaud you for that. You don't need to get up and do any heavy lifting, or fly to a 3rd world country. Just sit here and play. Enjoy!

P.S. As the website designers, we have found it in our personal preference to disable scrolling for the websites. This means that you won't be able to view the entire website, but just the portion that is visible. You can still click within the page and go do different pages via this window, but your scrolling is simply disabled. If you wish to visit the actual website, you can visit them by clicking the links above the windows below. Thanks for understanding!

P.S.S. These sites are legitimate! You can visit snopes.com to verify the truth behind these websites. The simple way it works is that the advertisements that are on each page pay the website each time someone visits the website. This massive revenue foots the bill for the money given to those in need (which is the entire 100% of the profits!). If you have any specific questions regarding each website, go ahead and visit them or check out their FAQ page, and it will answer any and all questions that you may have.

Website: Free Rice --- (Snopes Approved)

Details: This website is nearly self-teaching. "For each answer you get right, we donate 10 grains of rice through the World Food Programme (UN spelling) to help end hunger." As stated before, they have the ability to do this by the advertisements on this page. So don't worry, you do not have to give up anything other than your time, and we are thankful for that! If you wish to change subjects, click on the "Change Subjects" button (yep, I told you it was pretty obvious) to be able to change it to another subject that you find more fitting, such as different languages, vocabulary, math, and the like. The longer you stay here and answer correctly, the more you help those around the world! Good luck!

Website: Free Poverty --- (Snopes Approved)

Details: This is nearly the same as the previous game. How well do you know the world? You can put your brain to the test and click where they tell you to. As you click start, a City and Country will come across the bar where it currently says "Are you ready? Hit Start!" and your job is to click where that city is on the map. Too far away and you'll lose a life (the red drops on the left hand side of the screen). If you lose all 5 lives, it's game over and you'll have to start again. But don't worry! All of the water that you collected up until your game over is saved and will be used for those who need water most. You can get up to 10 cups PER question if you know your stuff! Try and reach a personal high score, or compete with some friends to see who knows the most, while helping those who need it most! This is a sister website of the FreeRice website (which you can see above), and so this too is a legitimate website who uses the advertisements on the screen to generate the funds needed for the water donations. Good luck!

Website: The Hunger Site --- (Snopes Approved)

Details: This website is an extremely easy way to help everyone in need, with next to zero effort. This website is not a scam, and like all the ones before it, it too uses the ads to generate the funds necessary. All you need to do is click on the button where it says "Click Here to Give - it's FREE!" And that's it! You can do this once daily, so come back each day and click to help give food to those who need it. And in addition to helping hunger, you can click on the other tabs at the top of the window, such as: Breast Cancer, Child Health, Literacy, Rainforest, and Animal Rescue. Once you click on a tab, you can click the button there as well to help donate to the fund that you are supporting. Just 11 simple clicks (doing the math thats clicking on the tabs and the buttons as well) and you can help 6 organizations raise money every day to help the missions that need dire attention. We all thank you for your support! Click away and play some games above as well!
